Biography

Born and mostly raised in Memphis, TN, Dan moved to Mobile to attend Spring Hill College with ambitions for a B.A. in Communication Arts with a Concentration in Journalism. His approach to photography became serious after his freshman year in college. Thanks to a kind communication arts department, he was given keys to the building and honed his craft in the university darkroom. Halfway through his junior year, he changed his direction. Since photography was one of the few things that intrinsically motivated him, he changed direction and to pursue photojournalism as a career.

Limited vacancies from local papers helped steer a decision towards freelance photography.

After two and a half years, his work now includes local publications as well as international wire services.
