1st Annual Dauphin Island Art Festival

Where: Cadillac Square, Dauphin Island

When: Saturday, May 3, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Cadillac Square was the original epicenter of the French territories in the New World. Now the sprawling oaks and shaded sands of the gathering point play host to another first, the Dauphin Island Art Festival.

Festival organizers boast of a variety of artisans with wares on display, painters, sculptors, metallurgists and more in what they say will be a “high-end juried festival.”

“We are overwhelmed by the quality of work being submitted for consideration,” Co-coordinator Joyce Champion said. “Artists are coming from the Carolinas down to Florida, and west to Louisiana.”

Champion said 60,000 square feet of the park has bee set aside for the event.

Also available will be refreshments and diversions for the youngest in the crowd.

The event is free to the public.

MOJO Jam Session

The ensembles are always surprising at these events and the superlative crew guarantees a great show.
