Bret Michaels
Date: Saturday, May 24, 8 p.m.
Venue: Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi (777 Beach Blvd.)
Tickets: $60 available through Ticketmaster.
As the frontman for Poison, Bret Michaels and his band employed glam metal and pseudo-feminine wiles to topple the world of rock in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Songs like “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Nothin’ But a Good Time,” “Unskinny Bop” and “Talk Dirty to Me” exploded up the charts and sent hearts fluttering. Poison ruled the airwaves until the grunge movement obliterated mainstream metal, and Poison faded into obscurity.
In 2007, Michaels has made his way back into the limelight with the success of his VH1 reality shows “Rock of Love” and “Rock of Love 2.” While finding love with Ambre Lake, Michaels was in the process of recording his June 3 release “Rock My World.”
When Michaels takes the stage at the Hard Rock, the audience will experience not only cuts off his new album but also some Poison favorites.

Emerging scene
The anti-folk scene is Mobile is growing with the emergence of musicians such as CBend and William Wallace. Both of these talented musicians were the entertainment for the MobileSucks.net Meet and Greet at Langan Park.
Wallace kept the crowd’s attention under the arms of a mighty oak with his unfiltered lyrics and unbridled guitar skills.
CBend has been gathering quite a fan base with her brawny vocals and furious playing. Her sheer emotion during her set displayed her passion for her art and was quite complimentary to her sound and lyrical content. Both of these up-and-comers boast fresh sounds and add to Mobile’s diversity.
Missionary position
Analog Missionary is gearing up for a beneficial and eventful summer. After releasing their upcoming third album, they will hit the road for a schedule full of performing across the Gulf Coast.
