Wonderful Wednesday: In the Path of the Storm

Where: Bellingrath Gardens and Home (12401 Bellingrath Gardens Rd.)

When: June 11, 10 a.m.

It takes a certain type of pluckiness to thrive at the edge of obliteration and it can be found in plenty hereabouts.

Authors Frye Gaillard, Sheila Hagler and Peggy Denniston will discuss their new book about Bayou La Batre, Coden and the Alabama Coast and the resilience of the communities after the destruction of hurricanes. There will also be photographs on display in the Magnolia Café.

Reservations are requested and entrance for the event is free for Bellingrath members, $10 for nonmembers.

For more info, call 251-973-2217 or 1-800-247-8420/251-973-2365 (24-hour info) or go to www.bellingrath.org.
