Mississippi native Carolyn Haines has maintained a strong connection with Mobile since earning her master’s degree in creative writing from the University of South Alabama in the mid-1970s. Not only was she employed at the Press-Register but has also taught at USA, received an Alabama State Council on the Arts Literary Fellowship and was the 2010 Harper Lee Award winner for Alabama’s Distinguished Writer of the Year.

This prolific author of more than 20 books is set to release her latest work, “The Seeker,” under her nom de plume R.B. Chesterton. Dr. Ron O’Gorman will moderate this discussion, which is free for Friends of the Library. A donation is encouraged from other public guests.

Light refreshments will be available.
