Band: Mardi Gras in July
Date: Saturday, July 20 at 2 p.m.
Venue: Fairhope Brewing Company, 914 Nichols Ave., fairhopebrewing.com
The folks at Fairhope Brewing Company will be giving Mardi Gras junkies a midsummer fix with its sixth annual “Mardi Gras in July” celebration. Mardi Gras is a holiday fueled by live music. For this occasion, Fairhope Brewing has picked a trio of bands to keep the good times rolling.
Blow House Brass Band will be warming up the crowd. The young brassaholics can be seen moving and grooving through most Mardi Gras parades. This collective keeps their sets interesting with a charismatic delivery of classic tunes.
Little Raine Band will be bringing righteous jams from the rocky hills of Birmingham. This group specializes in an extensive and complex jam style that breaks the boundaries. They walk a psychedelic edge with a sound that is the love child of the Grateful Dead and Disco Biscuits.
The night will conclude with a performance from Petty for Your Thoughts. This tribute group has mastered the songs of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Petty fans should be pleased with live renditions of hits such as “Last Dance with Mary Jane” and “Into the Great Wide Open.”
