In 1998, Staind introduced the world to the new metal sound. With rock anthems such as “Outside” and “It’s Been Awhile,” the group quickly gathered a dedicated following. Staind may have been noted for its metal sounds, but lead singer Aaron Lewis also had another sonic passion: He was a huge fan of country, and eventually shot off from Staind to pursue a career in country music — quite successfully. Lewis even earned two nominations at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.
Cary Laine will provide local support for Lewis. She wowed the nation with a successful run on NBC’s “The Voice,” and since then has been in the studio with producer Anthony Crawford (Neil Young, Sugarcane Jane) recording her upcoming release “Miss Alabama.” This album has been financed through a Kickstarter campaign. According to Laine’s website, “Miss Alabama” will be available in early 2016.
