Dax Riggs is one of the most prolific modern singer-songwriters. The title of singer-songwriter brings about many connotations, and Riggs destroys each one with extreme prejudice. Riggs first gained notice as the front man for legendary sludge metal band Acid Bath. After his time in Acid Bath, Riggs formed Deadboy & the Elephantmen. With its melancholy acoustic tracks, this guitar/drum combo was an extreme departure from the sounds of Acid Bath. However, Acid Bath’s dedicated cult following embraced his new music.
Riggs has disbanded Deadboy & the Elephantmen and now performs as a solo act. When Riggs returns to Soul Kitchen, he will be performing in support of his latest album, “Say Goodnight to the World.” This release is filled with the stoned, dark sound that has characterized his work since Acid Bath. However, his music maintains a pseudo-warmth that provides each track with an emotion that is undeniable to the listener.
