92 Zew has established a reputation for providing the Azalea City with free concerts with superb lineups. This time, the Zew will be hosting a performance from Adia Victoria. Victoria is a true, modern Renaissance woman.
Before settling in Nashville, Victoria’s travels have taken her from South Carolina to the streets of Paris, Brooklyn and Atlanta. Along the way, she delved into the world of poetry, acting and dance. Now, Victoria’s focus is a modern, progressive blues style accented by a beautiful voice pulled from the days of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.
Victoria is touring in support of her sophomore effort “Silences,” which was produced by Aaron Dressner (The National). Luckily, this blues diva is continuing her practice of combining progressive blues instrumental arrangements with classic vocal work. This album is musical seduction at its finest. However, one of the most impressive aspects is Victoria’s ability to mix elements of shoegaze and rock into her blues anthems.
