The Marcus King Band is taking Southern rock into the future by doing one simple thing: focusing more on the blues roots of rock, emphasized by frontman/guitarist Marcus King’s impeccable fretboard skills.
The Marcus King Band has already established a healthy following in Mobile. Many of King’s local fans have his debut album, “Soul Insight,” in their collections and can expect to hear music from the band’s eponymous sophomore effort, due out Oct. 7, during this visit.
The band has already given the public a taste with the album’s first single, “Ain’t Nothing Wrong with That.” If this track represents the rest of the album, fans may be treated to another side of King. This soulful track features driving drum beats, bright horns and alto vocal work by King.
