This assemblage of bands is being called the “Alabama Mix-Up,” not only because they were all founded in Alabama, but they also represent five completely different styles of music.
Recently, Post Mortem Delirium has been spreading their mix of metal-infused horror punk around the Southeast, but is among a trio of local bands that will be returning to Mobile for this show. They have developed a reputation for giving their audience no quarter with an unbridled rock assault.
The Mustachios take things to the opposite end of the sonic spectrum with their indie rock sounds. The quartet maintains pristine vocals and instrumentation to create a modern alternative rock sound that borderlines power pop.
Dirty Mikes will bring a different serving of punk to this musical concoction. This Eastern Shore group has established roots in traditional punk with both their sound and delivery.
Birmingham will also be represented at the Alabama Mix-Up. Electric Sheep is noted by their minimalist rock sound with fuzzy guitars and vocals accented by volleys of drum blasts while Wray completes the lineup with a dreamy sound that could be described as shoegaze meets noise rock.
