In 1969, a relatively unknown band from Flint, Michigan, called Terry Knight & the Pack was parting ways. Unbeknownst to them, the breakup would give birth to one of rock’s most constant bands, Grand Funk Railroad. With songs like “Inside Looking Out,” Grand Funk used its self-titled debut to infiltrate the ‘70s rock scene. Songs such as “Closer to Home” and “We’re an American Band” provided the group with a larger listening audience as well as a permanent spot in rock history.
The current incarnation of Grand Funk features founding members Mel Schacher (bass) and Don Brewer (vocals/drums), along with Max Carl (38 Special), Bruce Kulick (KISS) and Tim Cashion (Robert Palmer, Bob Seger). This lineup should provide the audience with a set full of excellent hits from this rock outfit’s catalog.
