People not only flock to Fairhope Brewing Company to sample local brews, but they also take advantage of the free musical entertainment the Eastern Shore institution provides. From Grayson Capps to Underhill Family Orchestra, Fairhope Brewing does not disappoint with their frequent showcases. Next up is Atlanta singer-songwriter/producer Michelle Malone.
Malone began her career in a church choir at the age of four, and she has immersed herself in music ever since. With a career spanning two decades, Malone has remained a constant in the music industry. Bands such as The Indigo Girls and Antigone Rising have performed her songs. Her résumé also boasts a long list of collaborations with artists such as Gregg Allman, John Mayer, Steve Earle, Little Feat, Albert King and many, many others.
The songstress will be entertaining small batch brewing enthusiasts with tracks off of her upcoming release “Stronger Than You Think,” which was produced by Malone and Gerry Hansen and is set for a May 30 release. Malone recruited Kristian Bush to co-write “When I Grow Up” and Indigo Girl Amy Ray to co-write “I Don’t Wanna Know.” Ray also performs the track with Malone on the album. The tracks on “Stronger Than You Think” prove that Malone has not lost her impeccable talent for expertly mingling Americana with rock.
