The Baldwin County Solid Waste Department’s annual Clean Sweep event, allowing residents to dispose of debris free of charge, is Jan. 9 at Magnoila Landfill, McBride Landfill and Bay Minette Transfer Station.
Baldwin County residents can bring yard waste, Christmas trees, construction debris, cardboard, tires, electronics, furniture, appliances, scrap metal, carpet, paint, household hazardous waste and other nonputrescible waste to the sites between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the event.
No regular household garbage will be accepted at this event. Baldwin County residents must provide proof of residency in Baldwin County as well as name, address and phone number to discard of their waste for free during Baldwin Clean Sweep 2016.
Baldwin County Solid Waste Department staff will be present to provide detailed instructions for unloading waste materials on the day of the event. Normal operating procedures and charges will be in effect for commercial waste disposal, putrescible waste disposal and commercial tire disposal.
In addition to Baldwin Clean Sweep 2016, the Baldwin County Solid Waste Department collects waste cooking oil for recycling for free every day at all Baldwin County Landfill locations. For more information about Baldwin Clean Sweep 2016 click here.
