The Baldwin County Commission announced today a special meeting to discuss issues related to the March 1 presidential primary. The commission will meet Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9:30 a.m. to address staffing and procedural issues related to the election.
County administrator Ron Cink said the Commission plans to appoint election managers, returning managers, officers and ratifying officials at the meeting, which will be held in the third floor conference room at the Baldwin County Central Annex II in Robertsdale.
“Because the presidential primary ballot has the property tax referendum, there are special considerations the commission needs to take with regards to statutes required,” Cink said at Tuesday’s commission work session.
Along with Republican presidential candidates, delegates and other statewide races, the ballot will include a pair of ad valorem tax renewals dedicated to funding the county’s schools.
The commission will consider other actions and issues related to the election at the meeting, but can also address any other actions necessary to conduct timely county business.
