The Mobile BayBears dropped their second straight game in al 5-1 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits Tuesday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium.
The Biscuits scattered 11 hits in the contest, while holding the BayBears to just five hits and the one run. With the loss, the BayBears fall to 6-6 in the first 12 games of the 2015 season, while the win pulls the Biscuits back even at 6-6.
Montgomery struck first with a run in the first inning, but the BayBears evened the score in the top of the third when Tom Belza scored on an RBI double from Brandon Drury. The run would be the only one scored of the day and just the second one in two days for Mobile.
Biscuits starting RHP Austin Pruitt (1-1) earned the win. Pruitt held the BayBears to just the one run on five hits, walking two and striking out five in seven innings on the mound. Biscuits RHP Park Markel earned his first save of the year after holding Mobile hitless in the final two frames of the game.
The Loss was charged to RHP Aaron Blair (1-1). The righty allowed just the three runs, all earned on eight hits, walking three and striking out six in 5.2 innings before exiting after throwing 100 total pitches.
The two teams meet for game three of the five game series with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday night at Riverwalk Stadium. The BayBears will return home to Mobile for the next homestand at Hank Aaron Stadium beginning on Saturday, April 25-April 29 against the Mississippi Braves.
