Band: Satin Dogs

While many music venues still remain silent, several local establishments are taking advantage of their outdoor stages. In recent weeks, Big Beach Brewing Company has brought live music back to its outdoor seating area.
This weekend, Big Beach patrons will have the chance to once again sip this brewery’s cold libations while enjoying local sounds.
On Saturday, the Satin Dogs will be traveling to Big Beach to entertain the crowd. Singer-songwriter Sergio Rangel serves as the foundation for this band. Under the moniker Sergio & the Satin Dogs, Rangel joined a collective of local talent to create his EP debut, “Under a Crowded Sign: Part One.” This release served as a perfect introduction to the band’s sound.
This album contained an acoustic-driven style riddled with organic soul and impressive jams. In the numerous live shows that followed this EP’s release, Rangel and his backing band proved that these tracks were just as attractive in a live setting as in the studio.
Rangel has been making the most of the COVID-19 outbreak. Those witnessing the Satin Dogs’ performance at Big Beach will experience his latest track, “Hatchet.” This song is definitely a nod to Paul Simon’s “Graceland”/“TheRhythm of the Saints” era. A bright acoustic guitar and exotic percussion cradle Rangel’s gentle vocal delivery. “Hatchet” is sure to be a hit with Big Beach patrons.
