According to a statement from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department, Mobile Fire-Rescue Officials have received confirmation from Pensacola Fire Officials that the body of Mobile Firefighter Ryan Vahle was recovered this morning, Saturday, Feb. 27.
“We are saddened by the loss of one of our own and we continue to keep Ryan’s family in our thoughts and prayers,” the statement read.
Vahle was reported missing from his waterfront home in Pensacola after he failed to report for a shift last week. He had been employed by the Mobile FRD for seven months. His body was found after a search conducted by Pensacola Police Department, Pensacola Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard. Arrangements for a funeral or memorial service have not been finalized at this time.
