Art is more than a passion or sideline pursuit for many of us, it’s a calling or a way of life and making it work as a vocation is tougher than ever imagined. Local gallery owners past and present can testify to the vagaries and fickle nature of the market.
Marc Wilson, a retail consultant from the Virginia Small Business Development Center will talk to participants about topics such as selling your art, defining your collector, merchandising basics, marketing, and creating a social media presence. It’s presented by the Alabama Small Business Development Center Network in partnership with the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and the Women’s Business Center of South Alabama, with the participation of the Centre for the Living Arts and Mobile Arts Council.
You can also register for a one-on-one consultation with Wilson for either Wednesday afternoon (1-5 p.m.) or Thursday morning (10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.).
