Well, fiddle-dee-dee, I guess it’s time to dust off your best hoop skirts – or your best curtain rods for you Carol Burnett fans – and cinch up that corset. There’s a big fundraiser waiting atop the Hill. This year’s Spring Hill College library fundraiser uses the 75th anniversary of Margaret Mitchell’s “Gone with the Wind” as a thematic focal point to raise money amidst the sprawling grandeur of the Old South.
The event features a silent auction of collectible books along with an open bar. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m.
Cost is $50 per person. For early reservations, make checks payable to Friends of Spring Hill College Library and mail to Audrey Patterson, 3763 Old Shell Road, Unit B, Mobile, Ala., 36608-1394.
For more information on reservations, call Audrey Patterson at 251-460-9230.
For more information on the event, contact Julie Kraft at 251-380-2284.
