With Thanksgiving weekend in effect, many will welcome out-of-town company into their homes. Once the leftovers thin out and the tryptophan has worn off, The Frog Pond at Blue Moon Farm will serve as a haven for those wanting to escape the ensuing holiday madness. The Sunday social will feature regulars Grayson Capps and Corky Hughes as well as The Frog Pond’s version of out-of-town company. The experience should make for the perfect outing for those visiting the area for the first time.
Grace Askew will be bringing her mix of blues and country that she has appropriately named “bluntry.” The Frog Pond masses will get to sample tracks from her debut EP “Empty Rooms.” Askew’s vocals highlight the album with its mesmerizing homespun soul sound.
Cary Hudson earned his street creds with the popular Mississippi-based band Blue Mountain. In recent years, Hudson has been packing venues with his solo material. This talented singer-songwriter lays organic Southern rock and old school country sounds on a bed of old school blues.
Nick Branch will complete the five-piece line-up. Branch should be an instant crowd-pleaser. Branch has mastered the upbeat jazz sounds from the mid-20th century and has added his own impressive modern touch.
