Flu Vaccines
The Mobile County Health Department is offering the 2014-2015 seasonal flu vaccine to those age 6 months and older without an appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Health Department’s Immunization Clinic, 251 N. Bayou St. The shots also are available by appointment at MCHD’s outlying Family Health centers. Appointments can be made by calling 251-690-8889. The shots are $15 each, payable in the exact amount by cash or credit card, or by using Medicaid or Medicare Part B, or private insurance that covers the cost.

Visit Bellingrath Gardens and Home during its 19th season of Magic Christmas in Lights. Magic Christmas in Lights runs until Jan. 3 and is closed on Christmas and New Years Day. The gardens are open during Magic Christmas in Lights from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m., and the holiday lights are on from 5-9 p.m. on each of these days. Bells in the Bayou
Four-mile and two-mile races organized by the South Mobile County Tourism Authority, begin at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 13790 S. Wintzell Ave., Bayou La Batre. Run for a record, or run for fun. Online registration is through Eventbrite or at the event from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Entry fees for adults are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the race. Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas
This 6th annual show will include a performance by the John Milham Trio with Chris Spies (pianist) and Chris Severin (bassist) will perform Vince Guaraldi’s soundtrack “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” The second set will feature many of Mobile’s finest songwriters performing their favorite Christmas tunes. Walk to Justice: Unity in the Community
The Mobile County branch of the NAACP, Save OurSelves (SOS) Movement for Justice & Democracy, People United to Advance the Dream Inc. and community leaders are organizing a nonviolent protest of recent decisions in the deaths of unarmed men of color at the hands of police. Celebrate this season with Project Mouvement In Art’s holiday performance “A Frozen Tea Party” at 2 p.m. at the Fairhope Civic Center, 161 N. Section St., Fairhope. Ark of India
“Ark of India: An Alabama Artist Explores Southern Asia” is an exhibit about personal discovery and exploration. It is an account of late 19th and early 20th century India as seen by Alabama artist Roderick D. MacKenzie, using his paintings, drawings, sculptures and most importantly, photographs and writings. The exhibition is organized by the History Museum of Mobile at 111 S. Royal St. and is on view until Sept. 1, 2015.
