Kids Days in Bienville
Bring the kids out for some summertime fun in downtown Mobile at Bienville Square, 150 Dauphin St. Enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts and visits from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, the Mobile police and fire departments and much more! Admission is free and events start at 10 a.m.
Thursdays at the Museum
Every Thursday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. the Mobile Museum of Art, 4850 Museum Drive, offers free admission to all visitors. Join MMOA each week to experience the museum in new and exciting ways throughout the year. No reservations necessary.
Market on the Hill
An outdoor market of locally grown produce, locally harvested seafood, homemade soaps and more is held at Lavretta Park on the corner of Old Shell Road and Parkway Street West from 2-6 p.m. every Thursday.
PRE-GLO Summer Film Series

The Haunted History Tour in downtown Mobile is a two-hour walk on Church and Government streets, visiting such sites as Church Street Cemetery and Fort Conde. You can hear some of Mobile’s dark, macabre, strange and unusual stories from the past and not so distant past. Tours may be booked at www.spiritexpeditions.com for every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
Shop for a Cause
Join the Young Women’s Civic Club at their annual Shop for a Cause event from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds, 1035 Cody Road. This event will feature over 20 vendors, and a percentage of all sales will be donated to McKemie Place, USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, and the Azalea Trail Maid Scholarship fund. All ages are welcome and admission and parking is free.
Star Spangled Pet Adoptions
The Haven will be at Petsmart, 10200 Eastern Shore Blvd. Spanish Fort, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with animal adoptions. All adoptable animals are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped. The adopter also receives the animal’s medical records, a free bag of Science Diet food, a free pet training DVD and free 30 days of pet health insurance. Adoption fees are $90 for dogs and $65 for cats.
Market on the Square
Vendors will be selling locally produced tomatoes, potatoes, sweet corn, cantaloupe, watermelon, seafood, flowers, plants, baked breads, pastas, casseroles, pies and handcrafted goods, plus live music and much more. The market is open each Saturday at 7:30 a.m. through July 26 on Cathedral Square in downtown Mobile. Organic produce is available.

Read It & Eat It
Join NY Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian for a luncheon and book signing. Bohjalian will be discussing his new book, “Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands,” a heartbreaking, wildly inventive, and moving novel narrated by a teenage runaway. Pinzone’s Italian Downtown and Isabella’s Steakhouse, 312 Section St. in Fairhope, will host the March of Dimes Summer Kickoff Event, starting at 6 p.m. The event will feature a beer tasting by Fairhope Brewing Company, paired with dishes by Chef Scott Dumas, and music by Ryan Balthrop.
