Kids Days in Bienville

Thursdays at the Museum
Every Thursday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. the Mobile Museum of Art, 4850 Museum Drive, offers free admission to all visitors. Join MMOA each week to experience the museum in new and exciting ways throughout the year. No reservations necessary.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand
Drop by 3355 Raleigh Way in Mobile to help raise funds for childhood cancer in honor of Hanna Wilson. The Lemonade Stand will open at 8 a.m. and remain open until 7 p.m. selling lemonade, baked goods, handmade items and other goodies. Building Fund Benefit
The Mobile Country Music Association presents live country and gospel music starting at 10:30 a.m. at the MCMA Concert Hall, 310 S. Craft Highway, Chickasaw. The Haven will hold a microchip clinic at Pet Supermarket in Daphne from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This life-saving procedure, which will cost $20, will be administered by Dr. Ron Shindler and his staff from Eastern Shore Animal Hospital. In addition, The Haven will be showcasing many wonderful cuddly dogs and cats that will be transported by the Haven’s Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit. For more information call 251-929-3980.

Battle of Mobile Bay
The Dauphin Island Park and Beach Board and Fort Gaines are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Mobile Bay Saturday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 3. Fort Gaines will host a two-day event highlighting the fort’s integral role in the Battle of Mobile Bay. The action-packed weekend will also showcase a Naval Battle, stories of famous Civil War Photographer Matthew Brady, and historical reenactments. The fun starts Saturday at 1 p.m.
Rock Your Soul Dance-Off
This summer some of the best Christian dancers and dance groups along the Gulf Coast gather to perform at the Rock Your Soul Dance-Off, an event that gives a platform for praising God through various styles of dance. Hosted by Restoration Place Church, the Rock Your Soul Dance-Off is set for 5:30 p.m. The event is held at the Hot Wheels Skate Center, 616 Whispering Pines Road in Daphne. Crime Prevention 5K Run/Walk
The Crime Prevention 5K Run/Walk will be held at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Mobile. The course is certified and the event benefits the Mobile Police Department. Race day registration until 6 p.m. in Bienville Square. Nice post race party with food and beverages, and five-year age group awards.
