In a time when “American Bandstand” was at its apex and beach movies sparkled across the silver screen, teen heartthrobs crooned their way on radio and stage. These handsome young men ruled the ‘50s and ‘60s with satin vocals that were a musical sensation to teenage girls around the globe.
Producer Dick Fox has created a touring show that is sure to bring a nostalgic swoon to audiences. Fox’s “Golden Boys” show brings together a three of the mid-20th century’s most iconic crooners.
Frankie Avalon, the king of the beach, earned notoriety for hits such as “Venus” and “Bobby Sox to Stockings,” and enhanced his reputation through roles in American International’s beach movies.
With a voice so smooth he needed only one name, Fabian will be on hand to sing hits such as “Turn Me Loose” and “Tiger.” Bobby Rydell, best known for such hits as “Wild One” and “Volare,” completes this retro trio. In addition to their respective hits, the three will also perform songs made popular by Elvis Presley, Bill Hayley, Bobby Darin and Rick Nelson.
