The advent of Black Friday also heralds a month of seasonal music. The radio waves and retail stores inundate with music highlighting the holiday season. Over the years, holiday music has evolved into a bipolar phenomenon. Songs range from the frantic to the melancholy, even when the lyrics reflect a lighthearted seasonal concept. With this in mind, the public should take advantage of any opportunity to experience holiday sounds that break from the typical.

Roman Street and Mithril will provide just that kind of opportunity at Mobile’s Jewel on Joachim, with individual sets and a collaborative set for a grand finale.

With a name taken from the world of J.R.R. Tolkien, Mithril entertains its audiences with traditional Celtic music mingled with modern overtones. When this quartet takes the stage, its acoustic instruments come alive with joyous sounds. Mithril is bringing a set of seasonal Celtic tunes that should have everyone dancing a holiday jig.

Brothers Noah and Josh Thompson journeyed to the Alps to craft a sound based on gypsy jazz and flamenco. When they brought their music back home, the Gulf Coast fell in love with its exotic sounds. The Saenger audience can expect cuts from Roman Street’s holiday release, “Christmas Rhumba.”
