A straw poll taken at the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Pork & Politics event May 13 indicates most incumbents may enjoy an easy reelection, while others may be fighting a losing battle. More than 100 people took the poll, which only included contested candidates on the June 3 primary ballot.
Among the incumbents who lacked support in the poll were Alabama Public Service Commissioner Terry Dunn and District 4 School Board Commissioner Tracie Roberson. It also indicated that a local amendment to transfer the assets of the Prichard Water Board to the Mobile Area Water and Sewer Service could pass by a three-to-one ratio.
The Chamber added a disclaimer that the ballot was not completely secure, so the results are not official.
