The Lacs are returning to Mobile with a fresh batch of songs from the band’s latest release. “Rise & Shine” adds to this duo’s eclectic legacy with the album’s title track representing The Lac’s musical philosophy. This roughneck hick-hop anthem combines elements of EDM, rock, rap and twang with fiery results. The Lacs are also not scared to take things slow. “City Boy’s Nightmare” is hick-hop ballad filled with smooth croons. While the band’s studio work is a rip-roaring experience on its own, The Lacs’ live show is just as electrifying.
Black Stone Cherry is also no stranger to the Azalea City. Their new EP, “Back to the Blues, Vol. 2,” shows that the band has a case of the blues these days. Black Stone Cherry has taken six blues classics and given them a progressive, blues-rock treatment. Robert Johnson’s “Me and the Devil Blues” and Son House’s “Death Letter Blues” are two of the album’s standouts.
