When one thinks of modern rock in the 1970s, some bands define the decade. With that in mind, The Amphitheater at The Wharf is taking a trip back in time.
Kansas is a six-piece from Topeka that reached superstar status with hits like “Point of Know Return,” “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind.” Their fans have recently been enjoying the band-centric documentary “Miracles Out of Nowhere.”
Headliner Boston’s vocal and guitar work are unmistakable. Their self-titled debut became an essential element in every ‘70s rock fan’s record collection. While their debut hit No. 3, the group followed with two No. 1s in the form of “Don’t Look Back” and “Third Stage.” Songs such as “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind” and “Amanda” are just three of many Boston songs that still receive a ton of airplay on classic rock radio stations worldwide.
