The Royal Potato Family label is sending one of its most versatile artists to entertain LoDa with Edward David Anderson, who gained notice as a member of Backyard Tire Fire. Anderson is now concentrating on a solo career and has been embraced by both new listeners as well as die-hard fans of his former band.
The singer-songwriter is no stranger to the area. According to his website, Anderson spent the cooler months “in an RV alongside the Gulf of Mexico in Lower Alabama.”
Anderson will be introducing the audience to tracks off his album “Lies & Wishes,” the follow-up to his 2012 debut “Low-Fi Goodness.” The album was produced by Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin, who discovered Anderson when Backyard Tire Fire opened for Los Lobos.
“Lies & Wishes” is sonically versatile. “Nothing Lasts Forever” takes on an upbeat, bouncing vibe. “Pins & Needles” mingles a classic waltz with modern alternative rock.
