As time passes, the chance to experience some of the greats of classic country dwindles. Loretta Lynn’s performance at the IP Casino & Resort will allow the audience to traverse almost 60 years of country music history.
After the release of her 1960 debut single, “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl,” Lynn’s unmistakable vocals began to spread across America. As the ‘60s made way for the ‘70s, Lynn released a number of hits — including “Fist City” and “Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)” — but the public would remember her best for the song “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” which evolved into an autobiography and biopic.
Time has not slowed Lynn’s career. When she arrives in Biloxi, her fans will be treated to a number of hits from her lengthy career, many of which can be found on her latest album, “Full Circle.” For this album, Lynn has collected a number of country classics performed during the course of her career and rerecorded them for a new generation. While the production on “Full Circle” may be high-tech, Lynn’s sweet country twang and classic instrumentation are just what the modern country scene needs.
