A corrections officer with the Robertsdale Police Department has been arrested and charged with sexual misconduct of a female inmate.
According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, which investigated the case, allegations of “custodial sexual misconduct” against 34-year-old corrections officer Brian Wendell Price were recently brought to the attention of police investigators in Robertsdale by a former inmate.According to Alabama law, “custodial sexual misconduct” is a class c felony defined as an “employee engaging in sexual conduct with a person who is in the custody of the Department of Corrections, the Department of Youth Services, a sheriff, a county or a municipality.”
Little is known about what Price is actually accused of, as no details about his arrest have been released. A press release from the Baldwin County officials identified the inmate as an adult female and Price a two-year employee of the Robertsdale Police Department.
An investigation was launched on May 29, which ultimately led to Price’s arrest Tuesday. He’s currently being held on a $2,500 bond at the Baldwin County Jail.
