Carmike Cinema’s Wynnsong 16 movie theater has a Christmas dream-come-true for kids this year: an afternoon at the movies and a new best friend to take home.
The theater has invited the Mobile County Animal Shelter to showcase some of its adoptable shelter pets on the theater’s grounds at 785 Schillinger Road South from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, during the showing of the movie “Annie,” a feature film about a young orphan girl.
The theater will give out free passes to the movie for the first few families who choose to adopt from the county shelter. The Mobile County Animal Shelter currently has 33 dogs available for adoption, and more that come out of stray hold every day.
Those dogs that are not on-site at the theater may be viewed online at www.mobilecountyanimals.com.
Cost of adoption varies up to a maximum of $65, depending on whether the animals have been spayed or neutered.
