Over the years, crawfish season has become yet another excuse for locals to celebrate any day of the week. During the season, diners can have their fill of these spicy crustaceans on a nightly basis at a variety of local establishments. Free music makes crawfish nights even sweeter, and Moe’s BBQ in Daphne is bringing homegrown singer-songwriter Denver Hawsey to entertain its crawfish-loving crowd.
Hawsey is a standout in the area’s ever-growing country scene. This local artist has given his audience his first musical offering in the form of “The Drifter,” a six-song collection of alt. folk and pop country amplified by evocative lyricism. Its final track, “Take Me Home,” brings “The Drifter” to an ending both memorable and emotional. This beautiful ballad mingles Hawsey’s vocals with those of Eleanor’s Courtney Mason.
