Croation guitarist Mak Grgic featured at Laidlaw

Born in 1987, Mak Grgic has become the latest heir to a tradition of Croatian classical guitarists. He studied with Ante Cagalj at the Elly Basic Conservatory of Music in Zagreb and obtained his Bachelor’s degree with Alvaro Pierri at the Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s Degree at the USC Thornton School of Music.

MakGrgic_cGrgic has played with symphony orchestras throughout the Old and New Worlds and was hailed by the Washington Post as “a lyrical and insightful player” whose work is “nuanced and introspective.” In addition to winning competitions in Europe and America, Grgic has also provided music for the Cybill Shepherd film “Regrets of White Camellias.”
