Band: Cole Jones
Date: Saturday, March 7 at 9:30 p.m.
Venue: Dauphin Street Blues Company, 568 Dauphin St., odalysirishpub.com
Dauphin Street Blues Company is one of downtown Mobile’s best venues for catching regional country up-and-comers. The Red Clay Strays, River Dan and Brooke Brown have all showcased their original sounds at this popular establishment. Cole Jones will be the next local country crooner to entertain Dauphin Street Blues Company patrons. This Hurley, Miss., native shared his father’s (vocalist Richie Jones) love for music. Jones used his teen years to hone his skills on the drums and guitar before concentrating on his vocals. His knack for songwriting makes him an active participant in the annual South Mississippi Songwriters Festival.
In addition to country standards, Jones will also have a number of original songs in his musical arsenal. Jones brings a taste of the old school to the modern country scene. His latest single, “Country Thang (Backwoods Version),” is a bold country testament strengthened by an acoustic stomp. This track proves that Jones is set on establishing his own sound in the cookie-cutter world of modern country.
