Posted by Lagniappe | Oct 12, 2015 | Latest, News | 0 |

Daphne Police arrested Brent Bolar, 34, and charged him with first degree domestic violence after he allegedly beat his father Andrew Bolar, 68, with a golf club. This morning, the charge was upgraded to murder after the father died during treatment at a hospital in Mobile.

On Sunday, officers were called to 7563 Whispering Pines Rd. in Daphne for a domestic assault. When they arrived, officers encountered Brent L. Bolar in the driveway with blood on his clothes. Bolar was detained at the scene.

During an investigation, officers searched the house and found Andrew Bolar lying on the floor with several wounds to his head and body. Andrew was given medical attention and was transported to the University of South Alabama hospital, where he later died.

“It is believed from the evidence gathered at the scene that Brent and Andrew got into some kind of argument which started outside the residence,” a press release from Capt. Judson Beedy said. “Andrew went into the house. Brent followed Andrew into the house and began to beat Andrew with a golf club.”

No further information has been released at this time.
