Police in Mobile are investigating a double murder after a couple was found shot to death inside a vehicle at PNC Bank on St. Stephens Road early this morning.

According to a news release from the Mobile Police Department, officers discovered a 20-year-old male and 19-year-old female in the front seat of a vehicle in parking lot of the bank shortly before 1 a.m. this morning.

Both victims had gunshot wounds to the head, and both were said to be deceased upon the officers’ arrival. Police have already classified the case as a “double homicide” and are now investigating a possible motive.

The MPD has yet to identify a potential suspect in the case, and the names of the victims have not been disclosed at this time. Updates to this story will be posted as details are released by the authorities.

According to MPD, the two deaths on St. Stephens Road mark the 25th and 26th murder reported in the Mobile so far in 2016. Unless an arrest is made, they will also be the 8th and 9th unsolved homicide cases this year.
