This afternoon the Mobile Police Department announced Johnny Duval as its Officer of the Month for November 2015 ahead of a luncheon honoring him on Tuesday.
Serving as an officer with the department since 2010, Duval is credited with helping to keep neighborhoods safe in Mobile’s third precinct.In a prepared release from the department, Duval was specifically credited responding to an audible residential alarm at the 40 block of Sherwood Drive recently. During that incident, he was able to locate a subject walking from the rear of a residential home.
In pursuit, Duval was able to detain 22-year-old Nicholas Minto, and through an investigation, found he’d been attempting to unlawfully gain entry into the unoccupied home. Minto was charged with attempted burglary as well as attempting to elude law enforcement officer.
Throughout November, Duval responded to 101 calls for service, 37 calls for backup and wrote 19 citations.
Additionally, he made eight felony and 26 misdemeanor arrests.
Duval will be honored at the Officer of the Month Luncheon at the Azalea City Golf Course Club. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at noon. As always, the monthly event will be hosted by the Midtown Optimist Club.
