Fairhope Police have confirmed that a body found in a vehicle near Baldwin County Road 48 is that of missing woman Melea White, who has been missing since early December.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Dec. 11, an Alabama Department of Public Safety helicopter, which was assisting the Fairhope Police with a search for White, located a vehicle on property near County Road 48 and Langford Road in Fairhope.
Officers from the Fairhope Police Department, along with deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, responded to that location and confirmed that the vehicle belonged to White and discovered the body of a deceased adult female in the vehicle.
Investigators were then able to identify the White as the deceased, and according to police reports White’s body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences (ADFS) for examination.
Ms. White was reported missing on December 3, in Fairhope. Her family last reported seeing her on Dec. 1. The cause and approximate time of death are yet to be determined, pending examination by ADFS, and additional details will be released when they become available.
