The Gulf Coast Ethnic and Heritage Jazz Festival (GCEHJF) is once again looking for entries from local artists to feature on their annual event posters. The free event is celebrating its “Sweet 16th” July 30 – Aug. 3 of this summer with its usual schedule of education and entertainment.
The contest is open to all artists, who are limited to one entry each. Criteria are:
An original, unpublished two dimensional work by the submitting artist
In any medium
Include the words “Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival” and “Mobile, Alabama,” as well as the year “2014”
24 inches high by 18 inches wide
Mounted on white foam core
The entry must also be received at GCEHJF offices (56 St. Joseph St., Ste. 1311, Mobile, Ala., 36602) by June 1, 2014 with full contact information including name, phone number and email address.
The winning entry receives $200, plus a booth for displaying and selling artwork during the concert at the Temple. This year’s line-up for that Aug. 2 event is Bay City Brass Band, Keep It Live and headliner Jason Marsalis.
