Modern rock has produced several notable acts that consist solely of a guitarist and a drummer. Bands such as Flat Duo Jets, The White Stripes and The Black Keys have created huge sound with a miniscule lineup. Now the Azalea City will have an opportunity to catch another rocking duo. Hailing from Los Angeles, The Two Tens have plans to be rock’s next big guitar/drum duo.

Adam Bones (guitar/vocals) and Rikki Styxx (drums) are The Two Tens. This duo specializes is a fuzzed-out style of garage rock goodness as captured on their debut album, “Volume.” For this recording, Bones and Styxx recruited L.A. scene veteran Bruce Duff as producer and entered Kitten Robot Studios to lay down tracks in their hometown.

The Two Tens’ intensity begins instantly with the opening track, “Scene.” Unrelenting riffs and beats are mingled with dual vocals laced with reverb. “Scene” sets the mood for this album; with the exception of songs like “Watching Me” and “You Want It All,” a high-energy vibe dominates. Inspired by the fathers of proto-punk, The Two Tens are an excellent addition to a rock legacy noted for its infectious riffs, beats and vocal delivery.
