The Modern Eldorados are bringing Olde Towne Daphne back in time. Gretsch Lyles serves as the band’s front man, and both his musical style and presentation are carefully shaped by the glory days of mid-20th century country. The honky-tonkin’ guitarist/vocalist found his muses in greats such as Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.
Lyles’ performances are a hurricane of rockabilly, classic country and western swing. His classic sound is accented by his live performances with a slick, clean-cut look straight out of the past.
Their style and sound has made The Modern Eldorados one of the most popular bands on the Gulf Coast. While the band’s show is filled with classic country standards, they also have quite a bit of original material, which can be sampled through “The Rockmart Demos,” a four-song EP filled with the obligatory twang and waltzing beats driving classic country.
