The resilience of the local metal scene cannot be ignored. The annual Make A Scene event serves as proper evidence. For the past decade, local thrash metal outfit D.R.E.A.D. has called forth a legion of their regional brothers-in-arms for a day of fiery riffs, apocalyptic beats and hellish vocals. Make A Scene X will maintain this yearly festival’s infamous reputation. This event also happens to be one of the few all-ages shows that has happened since the COVID-19 crisis began.
With the Gulf Coast Metal Alliance in place, D.R.E.A.D. has reached out among its ranks to pull some of the region’s up-and-coming metal acts and one wild card to make things interesting. D.R.E.A.D., Southern Grudge, Seditious Deceit, Countermand and Finsternis will be representing the Azalea City metal scene.
South Louisiana will be sending Omen of Ruin and Southern Brutality as ambassadors of metal. Killhammer will be traveling from Gulfport, Miss., to whip the crowd into a mosh. With a lineup boasting legends of the regional metal scene, Dark Con of Man will give the crowd a hot dose of Florida metal. Finally, Make A Scene X will shake up the lineup with a set from progressive blues rockers Johnny No.
