This Christmas season might not be as jolly as in the past. However, Greg “Red” Padilla of Red & the Revelers has a reason to celebrate. While many local artists fell into a state of limbo, Padilla used regular social media performances to keep his sound echoing through the masses. The past year has also resulted in a solid and impressive lineup for Red & the Revelers.
Padilla is currently joined by Chris D. Miller (drums), Ross Graham (bass), Nathan Callaway (guitar), Brian Fulmer (saxophone), Alvin King (trumpet) and Taylor Hall (trombone). This lineup has electrified the original tracks from Red & the Revelers’ debut full-length, “The Wizard & the Witch.” Those joining Red & the Revelers for this holiday celebration will witness tracks from the band’s debut as well as new cuts from the band’s upcoming sophomore effort.
The holiday rowdiness does not stop with Red & the Revelers. After several showbill changes, Mob Towne Revival has been confirmed for this event. Even though shows are few and far between, Mob Towne Revival’s adrenalized, live instrument hip-hop sound is always a welcome addition to any stage. Plucky grooves, intricate verbal flows and a dynamic live show highlight their musical philosophy. The crowd will have no choice but to submit to this band’s unavoidable sound.
Enigmatic singer-songwriter Abe Partridge will also be performing for Red’s Rowdy Revelin’ Christmas. Partridge has demonstrated his impressive talents with both his music and his folk art. As with many local musicians, Partridge has spent the past year performing any gigs he can find. In between gigs, he has been spreading his art through his Alabama Astronaut Art Club. Members of this club receive regular packages filled with his work. With Partridge live shows a rare occurrence, zealous followers of this singer-songwriter should take advantage of his performance at Red’s Rowdy Revelin’ Christmas.
