Alabama Music Box is bringing the past and present together of one facet of the Azalea City metal scene. Son of a Gun has reemerged from the darkness to spread its own brand of sonic chaos across this unsuspecting burg. Formed in 2005, Son a Gun uses a vehement mix of ominous riffs, thunderous beats and a mix of hellish vocals to establish a zealous local following. After many dormant years, the group is back with a new single called “Sean Murphy.” With sick rhythms and driving riffs, this track is a very impressive step forward in the band’s sound.
A trio of up-and-coming hardcore metal acts will be lending support to Son of a Gun. Kings of the South’s crunchy guitar and double-edged vocals is sure to be a hit with the crowd. Falling for Insanity will showcase new material including the intricately melodic “Cup O’ Joe.” Stepping up from the living room to the Alabama Music Box stage, Degenerates will feature some of the hardcore scene’s newest sounds.
