For several years indie folk has surged in the music industry and the masses have consumed hungrily. The Head and the Heart is one of the most celebrated bands of this contemporary genre. This collective of acoustically minded (with a hint of synth) young musicians was born in Seattle’s eclectic music scene. The Head and the Heart’s profound success as a DIY band attracted the attention of legendary local label Sup Pop Records (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr.). With label representation, the band released their major label self-titled debut.
The Head and the Heart is currently touring in support of their sophomore effort “Let’s Be Still,” which the band produced alongside Shawn Simmons. The group’s input into the production of the album resulted in an epic collection of superb indie tracks. This release highlights the group’s talent for providing gentle instrumentation, pristine harmonies and haunting synth that give their music an ethereal nature.
