Mobile police have made an arrest for the Jan. 14 homicide on Helveston Street that left 22-year-old Timothy Tyrone Taylor dead.

An investigation eventually revealed Armani Markell Ward, 22 of Mobile, was responsible for the shooting death of Taylor. A murder warrant was signed on Ward, and he turned himself in to police on Jan. 20. He was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail on the same day and charged with murder.

On the day of the incident, authorities received a report of one shot, and they found Taylor dead on arrival at the location. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Ward has an extensive criminal history that spans back to 2010 and includes weapons, theft, assault and drug charges.
