A nine-year veteran of the Mobile Police Department has been named Officer of the Month for February.
Corp. Joshua Himes takes home the honor after a month in which he answered 36 calls for service and was back-up on 17. He made six on-scene felony arrests, five misdemeanor arrests and wrote 30 citations.
During one incident last month, Himes responded to the scene of a commercial robbery in progress. Himes and an off-duty officer entered the business and apprehended the suspect with no injuries to officers or bystanders.
Himes will be honored during a luncheon today at Azalea City Golf Club.
