Dauphin Island’s Krewe de la Dauphine is again the first mystic society to parade this Mardi Gras season, with a procession on Bienville Boulevard beginning at 1 p.m. tomorrow. The parade will start at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and travel west on Bienville Boulevard to the Dauphin Island Elementary School.
Another society, the Island Mystics, will have a parade on the same route next Saturday, while Mardi Gras doesn’t begin for Mobile until Valentines Day. The Conde Cavaliers will kick off the season in the Port City on the main route downtown Feb. 14.
Lagniappe will publish a complete guide to the season in its annual Mardi Gras edition Feb. 20, but prior to that, the parading schedule is as follows:
Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. – Krewe de la Dauphine (Dauphin Island)
Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. – Island Mystics (Dauphin Island)
Friday, Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. – Conde Cavaliers (Mobile, Route A)
Saturday, Feb. 15
2 p.m. – Order of the Rolling River (DIP)
2:30 p.m. – Bayport Parading Society (Mobile, Route A)
6:30 p.m. – Pharaohs, Order of Hebe, Conde Explorers (Mobile, Route A)
Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. – Krewe de la Heron Lakes, a children’s parade (Heron Lakes Circle, Mobile)
Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 12:30 p.m. – Mystics of Ashland Place, a children’s parade (Lanier Avenue, Mobile)
Mardi Gras Day is March 4.
